Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has contributed more than S$2 million (US$1.6 million) in monetary and in-kind support to Singapore’s President’s Challenge, following the success of its inaugural RWS Cares Festival.
Held on 22 and 23 August 2026, the festival brought together employees, community partners and beneficiaries through fundraising, inclusive activities and sustainability initiatives.

One of the main highlights was the 1.4km Steps of Hope walkathon, which attracted more than 3,000 participants. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam flagged off the event, while RWS chairman Lim Kok Thay presented a donation of S$818,688 to support the President’s Challenge.
The funds will benefit organisations including the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), TomoWork and MILK Fund, supporting programmes in areas such as employment preparation, skills development, financial literacy and workplace inclusion.
Lee Shi Ruh, CEO of Resorts World Sentosa, remarked that the strong support for the festival reflected a shared commitment to giving back and creating meaningful impact for communities in need.
The festival also featured a Green Living Fair, where local businesses and social enterprises promoted sustainable products and community initiatives.
Insights
What stands out is that the initiative goes beyond fundraising.
By supporting employability, training and workplace inclusion, RWS is helping beneficiaries build stronger pathways towards long-term independence and meaningful employment.
With RWS committing to a multi-year partnership with the President’s Challenge, the initiative also shows how major hospitality and tourism employers can play a broader role in supporting both the community and Singapore’s inclusive workforce.
